them, so they need to see themselves; for not only is he Lord, so that they have a duty to accept what he says, but he is also Saviour, and their lost-ness is the very reason why he has come into the world to save them. Evangelism, now as then, must therefore include the teaching that they are astray, like the lost sheep; helpless, like the lost coin; foolish, like the lost son.
